Overview
The Data Governance Committee focuses on data, analytics, and activities related to campuswide projects and initiatives involving the use of institutional data. [Research data is not included in the scope of the Data Governance Committee.] In alignment with the University’s mission and campus IT strategy, as established by the Executive IT Governance Board, the Data Governance Committee employs:
- Conceptual data governance to enable the emergence and ongoing cultivation of a single, shared definition of our data across the institution.
- Logical data governance to mature processes that create data across the institution so that they generate accurate, timely, and meaningful data.
- Physical data governance to continue development of the non-functional processes that capture, store, classify, and enable the retrieval and use of institutional data in a consistent and secure manner.
