Turnitin Clarity underwent scheduled enhancement on Monday, December 1, 2025. With this update, the Bruin Learn CoE will continue exploring Turnitin Clarity through the Spring 2026 academic term to evaluate its ability to provide instructors with deeper insight into the student writing process and to support responsible student engagement with generative AI within writing assignments. Note: Instructors must sign up to participate in this exploration; additional details are available on the service page linked under Resources.
As a result, instructors who opt in will have access to: version history playback for quick, intuitive review of the full writing process; a writing report flagging key indicators such as pasted text, active writing time, and revision history; an insights dashboard listing all student submissions and select writing flags; and the option to enable an AI assistant while maintaining visibility into student interactions. Students will have access to a dedicated composition space for drafting their assignments, along with optional, instructor-enabled AI tools to support their writing process.
